Using a test light, inspect the fuses. The fuses for the power windows are located on the back of the fuse box cover. Check for power on both sides of the fuse by inserting the prong into each divot on the top of the fuse. If the fuses are operational, proceed to the wires. If a fuse has blown, it should be replaced. A trim panel removal tool is inexpensive and saves you a lot of time. Reach into the door panel and disconnect the power connector to the window motor (wear leather gloves to protect against cuts). Connect the leads of your voltmeter to the two terminals on the connector. Turn the key to the “on” position and toggle the window switch up and REMOVAL. (1) Remove the watershield. (2) Remove door glass retaining clips and secure the window in the up position using masking tape or equivalent. (3) Disconnect wire connector from power window motor, if equipped. (4) Loosen screws attaching front and rear window guide rails to inner door panel. Hi, I have a three year old Mazda 6 and have encountered a problem with the electric windows on the drivers side. The drivers window has stopped working at all although there is a clicking noise from the motor in the door when you press the switch. The back door drivers side works intermittently, sometimes sticking, sometimes working if you Wiring/Fuses. Looking to see if your CX-5 blew a fuse is a great place to start. This is particularly true if the window does not seem to have been struggling before it failed to go up. If all of the windows don’t work, that is going to be a fuse or window relay that has gone bad. You’ll need to locate the fuse box, and then the power Now, the car has after-market tinting on the windows (it was fitted prior to my purchasing the vehicle), and on a particularly hot day about three months ago, both of the rear windows just wouldn't go down any more. I didn't have time to bother with it, but when idly pressing the button one cooler day, one of the rear windows gave a bit of a "pop!" 1. Remove front door trim panel as necessary to gain access to power window motor wire connector. 2. Disconnect power window motor wire connector from door harness. 3. Using two jumper wires, connect one to a battery (+) source and the other to a good ground (-). 4.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. 2. Make sure that the power window ‘lock’ switch located on the driver's door is not depressed. 3. Press the switch mounted on one of the rear doors and fully open the window. 4. Pull up the switch to fully close the power window and continue holding the switch for about 2 seconds after the
Now operate the driver's switch again, you should see the same 12v one direction, -12v the other direction. This should also do the same thing using the passenger switch now (since we're probing AFTER the switch. Now move further down the wiring to the motor itself. Disconnect the passenger window motor connector and probe the two pins. Use a Test Light To Examine the Fuses. Inspect the fuses with a test light. The fuses connecting to the power windows will be found on the back of its box cover. To check the power on both sides, you can insert a prong into every divot on the head of the fuse. In case the fuse is still active normally, check the wires.

The power window can get stuck because of an issue with its motor, switch, window regulator, or wiring. There are temporary measures to roll up a stuck power window, such as slamming the door or hitting the area over the motor. A faulty window switch, snow, and ice are common reasons for the power window not rolling down.

However, if you disconnect the motor from the frame and let it dangle on the regulator wires, you can pull it all the way through to the other port in the frame. That way, it turns out that, it was even easier to work with than the driver window motor. Hope this helps. Posted on Jun 25, 2010. How to fix the drivers side power window on a Mazda 3. In this video I describe how to fix the drivers side window that goes down ok, but has a hard time going up. Basically what I did was use a
