Not sure how to explain this strange new behavior. I've been driving the new MAN TGX for 50+ hours and only just tonight noticed that it's slowing me down automatically when cruise control is on. I'll set cruise control to 50 km/h, speed up to 70, and about a second later it drastically brakes me down to 50 again. I don't have a retarder on this truck and the automatic retarder setting in
186. 1. TruckersMP Profile. Posted July 6, 2021. Hello, For me, brake intensity have to be changed every time if your cargo mass is different every time. Let's compare with you got a 2t cargo and 24t cargo. When you're using 2t cargo, maybe around 1/3 to 1/4 intensity are more than enough; for 24t cargo job, you may have to slide the intensity One of the primary advantages of the retarder system over the various engine-brake systems is exactly the fact that it connects through the output shaft of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ - remains in effect regardless of whether the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ is engaged or not and it's effectiveness is not dependant on the particular gear engaged.. At first I thought it was a steep hill and a heavy load, but even on a flat surface it was slowing me down, so I pulled over to the side of the highway.

It is accurate. High-pressure air is let into the brake chamber when you depress the brake pedal. The pressure causes the brake mechanism to activate and slow the truck down. If you let the air straight out of the brake chambers before you were done braking you possibly wouldn't even have enough pressure for one complete stop.

It's the retarder that's stuck, turn it off. Look for Retarder higher, and retarder lower in key config. I mapped them to pgup and pgdn respectively. You should lower it. 1. its not a racing car. 2. make sure you are not in Neutral. 1. its not a racing car. 2. make sure you are not in Neutral. I can increase the retarder by 3 levels (if the gear box support it), I feel the effect and I see the stick moves inside the cabin. But I don't manage to see nor feel the effect of increasing engine brakes. I do manage to use the engine brake via holding the engine brake key, or via setting it to auto engine brake mode, But I don't manage to see the effect of increasing the engine brakes str
This is a mod that revises the drive train for stock Renault Magnum and Premium. It adds new engines with realistic parameters, gearboxes with realistic ratios and naming and icons. The mod contains: Euro 5/EEV: DXi11 for Premium. DXi13 for Magnum.
Jake or compression-release brakes are mostly used in American trucks and, while exhaust-restriction brakes are used in Euro trucks. Both are engine brakes, just different methods. The setting is called "Automatic retarder". When it is checked it will slow you down when on cruise control and going downhill for instance.
Smart Cruise Control = Automatically applies retarder (or engine brake if you don't have a retarder) to keep you at the CC speed limit. Tolerance = means it will allow you to go X mph/kph faster than CC before it starts to brake. eg: If you're set at 30mph but have tolerance at 5mph it will let you go 35 before applying the auxiliary brakes.
Originally posted by scugnizzo89: Each truck has 2 braking modes, one is the classic air brake (the one you naturally use with the down arrow key), the other is the retarder. Since using air brake reduces the amount of air (once is finished, you have to stop the truck, put the neutral and accelerate in order to refill it), the retarder lets you
Set the engine brake or retarder on automatic, and they are controlled by the brake paddle. ↳ 18 Wheels of Steel: Extreme Trucker 2; ↳ Euro Truck Simulator
IRL most European trucks are now automatic so for ETS 2 if you're looking for realism then auto would be the way to go, there are manual trucks in Europe too but they are older models and manufacturers are now providing Auto gearboxes as standard issue for the auto retarder and auto engine braking instead? thanks
