Afaik, if you have no characters, you can change servers all you want. And also you get 1 free server transfer after you buy any expansion. As Tash has written, dont be afraid to contact the support, they are really helpful and usually answer pretty soon (maybe will take a day because of steam launch tho). #6.
Unlike other games, in GW2 you join a server with your whole account. This means you can't have different characters (called toons by most people) on different servers. Since September 2014 guilds are cross-server. Out of the 3 game modes you have, PvE, sPvP and WvW, only the latter is server-dependent (more information further down in the post
Hey this even works with my free account. Either I didn't get to pick a world for it (it was the first week they came out I created the account) or I forgot, but I never got to level 60 so WvW is locked and I guess I never thought to check that info because normally it's just telling me things I already know.
Me and a friend wanted to get into the game but when i opened up the game it prompted me to choose a world but it never did that for my friend so we…
Any player on either on the two can play with any other player on the same megaserver. So, if your friend chose a homeworld that is in the same region as yours, North America or Europe, you can play together in every part of the game. Except for WvW, as described above. #2. NA has more coverage and more even PPT wars than EU. The level of play for both GvG and blobbing seems considerably lower. PvP metas are somewhat similar, but in NA you find alot more trollsy builds and players in the higher up ranks. Overall both WvW and PvP the level of play in NA felt lower to me.

Your server 'home' only matters for two things: Your overall region (North America or Europe, pick the closest one for the least lag) and the World vs. World game mode. For normal PvE play, as long as you're in the same region as your friend, you can play even across different servers in all modes except
26. Posted February 24, 2022 (edited) On the character select screen click on world selection then pick a world and hit transfer it will show you how many gems it takes to switch. It will not transfer you unless you have enough gems and you actually hit transfer. This will change your home server though I do not know how you can change just for
I saw this on a twitch stream chat last night, but apparently you can launch your non-Steam GW2 account on Steam if you type "-provider Portal" into Launch Options (in Steam library right click Guild Wars 2 -> General -> Launch Option). I just tried this and it seems to work perfectly fine. Do note however that you need to fully install the rEMtzF.
